New Updates

Hello All,

I've been MIA but for good reason...my hubby was here visiting over the past week and half.  Unfortunately his time here went by too quickly but hopefully in January I'll be making the trip home to close on the house.  Although we don't have a firm date yet we are expecting to close around 26 Jan.

So updates on the house...plumbing and ventilation was done right before he came out here and of course as I predicted dry wall happened while he was here.  We missed the pre-dry wall meeting but everything looks okay so far.  He sent plenty of pictures that I am slowly dissecting!  We did notice that one of the speakers in the media room is in the wrong location so he'll be contacting Guardian to get it fixed.  The garage was packed with doors and cabinetry which I guess will be getting installed in the next week or so.  The drywall also still needs to be finished off (taping and patching).

Progress continues

Hello everyone!

Progress continues everyday...my hubby went by this morning and took lots of pictures for me.  The windows and doors are in as well as we have a finished roof.  The house is coming along nicely.  The only thing I am somewhat disappointed in is the back yard.  The yard is rather small and our house isn't very big; our lot was marked off for a Courtland which is a much larger home.  Next up...hubby doing walk through on Wednesday with Guardian for wiring and I'm guessing dry wall will be next...my hubby will be here visiting next week (yay!!!) which will most likely be the week the dry wall goes up (boo)...oh well...here are some pics of the progress they have made.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving...I give thanks for my family, friends and the opportunity to have  a new place to call home...this time next year we will all be together sharing this day in our new home.

Progress continues...I was quite surprised when I received these pictures from my hubby yesterday.  I was expecting some action...maybe a few sticks here and there but definitely not a second floor...woohoo...moving on up!!!  Just Friday I had concrete and yesterday I almost have a roof over the house.

What else is missing???

Hi e-Family,

So as it turns out the window I was expecting which was in the model home is no longer part of the plans.  Hasn't been for about two years.  I was told by the PM that in an effort to reduce the cost of the house certain things like that window were removed from the plans.  Would have been nice to know when we toured the model home and/or had our pre-construction meeting!  Apparently there are other things that were removed but I still haven't been told what they are...I will re-engage with the PM to see if I can get some clarification...I'd hate to be surprised again!  So for those of you in the early stages get clarification of everything no matter how small it may be.

Making progress!!!!!!!

Aloha e-Family!

Well we are making steady progress...my hubby went by the lot today and took some pictures for me.  From what I can tell the basement has walls and floors and the garage has a floor.  There was some lumber on the lot but the PM said more to come next week.  I did notice that in the Zachary model there is a small window in the storage room in the basement but I did not notice the cut out in our pictures.  I sent the PM an email asking him to verify the window...we'll see what he says!  Well enjoy the pics...until the next update :-)

We have action!

Hello e-family,

Wanted to thank all for their words of encouragement over the last two weeks with our house progress delay. Well I have some great news...we have had action on our lot...yay!!! I called our PM on Monday (7 Nov) to get a status and he informs us that they dug over the weekend and footer and foundation were beginning this week. Unfortunately my hubby is out of town on business but our SR was awesome to snap some pictures for us. Not really sure what I'm looking at but I am thrilled that there is action on our lot.

Here are the pictures we have so far...hopefully I'll have more when my hubby gets back.
